Godown Wiring Connection Diagram – Explanation | New Topic
Welcome to another note of Poly Notes Hub, we are going to learn about the Godown Wiring Connection Diagram with an explanation. Welcome to Poly Notes Hub, a leading destination for engineering notes for diploma and degree engineering students.
Go-down wiring is a sort of electrical system that controls the lights in a warehouse or go-down sequentially. This wiring assures that when a person enters the first room and turns on the light, they can only turn on the following room’s light after entering it, while simultaneously shutting off the previous room’s light. This helps to save electricity, particularly in extended storage areas.
Purpose of proper lighting wiring connection in Godown –
To control multiple lights in a long go-down or warehouse.
To ensure that only the room being used remains lit.
To save power by switching OFF previous rooms automatically as the person moves forward.
Components Used in the Circuit Diagram of Godown Wiring
Godown wiring circuit diagram needs less amount of components, which are listed below –
Multiple 2-way (SPDT) switches
Lamps (as per number of rooms)
Phase and neutral wires
Traveler/strapper wires
Godown Wiring Connection Diagram with Working Principle
This is the godown wiring layout diagram –
Working Principle
Each room has two switches—one at the entrance and one at the exit.
When a person enters Room 1, they turn ON the light using Switch S1.
Before entering Room 2, they turn ON Room 2 light using Switch S2 and turn OFF Room 1 light using the second switch at Room 1’s exit.
This continues for all rooms.
The arrangement ensures only the room currently occupied remains illuminated.
