Block Diagram of Gas Turbine Power Plant

Below shows the block diagram of gas turbine power plant and describe the functions of each section of the block diagram –

• Filter: The air filter filters out dust and other contaminants from the incoming air, protecting the compressor and other components from damage.
• Compressor: The compressor accepts filtered air and compresses it to a higher pressure. This high-pressure air is required for optimal burning in the combustion chamber.
• Combustion Chamber: The high-pressure air from the compressor is combined with fuel and ignited in the combustion chamber. This combustion process generates high-temperature and high-pressure exhaust gases.
• Gas Turbine: The exhaust gases from the combustion chamber, which are high in temperature and pressure, are directed onto the gas turbine blades. The energy from the exhaust gases propels the turbine blades, transforming thermal energy into mechanical power.
• Alternator: The mechanical energy from the gas turbine powers the alternator, which creates electricity.
