Disadvantages of Coal Power Plant

Here are some demerits of coal power plant –

1. Coal combustion emits considerable amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other pollutants, which contribute to climate change and air pollution.
2. While coal is readily available it is a finite resource that will eventually run out with continued use.
3. Coal mining, particularly surface mining, causes widespread land degradation and habitat damage.
4. Coal power plants need a lot of water to cool and produce wastewater that might contaminate surrounding water bodies.
5. Pollutants from coal plants can induce respiratory and cardiovascular problems in adjacent communities.
