Power Supply: The power supply converts conventional home alternating current (AC) voltage into high-voltage electricity that powers the magnetron and other internal components. It guarantees a consistent electrical flow, allowing the microwave oven to operate safely, efficiently, and continuously during the cooking or heating cycle.
Control Unit: The control unit regulates all internal functions by reading keypad commands. It regulates the magnetron’s functioning, cooking time, power levels, and turntable motor. Essentially, it serves as the microwave’s core processing mechanism, assuring proper timing and power output for various food types.
Keypad or User Interface: This part lets users interact with the microwave oven. It includes buttons for adjusting cooking time, power level, and specific operations like as defrosting. The control unit processes the input to run the microwave according to the selected settings, providing convenience and flexibility in use.
Timer or Clock: The timer/clock tracks cooking or heating times and displays a countdown to the user. It provides signals to the control unit, which starts or stops the magnetron accordingly. Magnetron: The magnetron is the heart of a microwave oven. It transforms high-voltage electrical energy into microwave radiation. Waveguide: The waveguide is a metal channel that carries microwaves from the magnetron to the cooking cavity. It is meant to keep microwave energy inside, preventing leaks and assuring user safety. Most types use a rotator to increase heating consistency over the food surface.
Truntable Motor: The microwave’s glass plate rotates thanks to the turntable motor. Turning the food during operation guarantees that microwave energy hits all sides equally, resulting in uniform heating. This helps minimize cold spots, particularly in thicker meals or liquids, improving overall cooking quality.
Door Interlock: The door interlock system incorporates safety switches that keep the microwave from working while the door is open. It turns off power to crucial components like the magnetron, so people are never exposed to active microwave radiation. This critical component provides necessary protection while avoiding potential health hazards.
